SENIOR R & D ENGINEER -NEURO
The Interventional Pain Therapies Operating Unit (OU), a market leader in vertebral augmentation and tumor ablation is looking to hire a talented individual for their product development team. As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will be responsible for innovation and technical development of new products for the treatment of vertebral compression fracture (VCF) and spinal tumors, including early stage investigation/research and/or translation of that into commercial medical devices
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Company R&D seeks an experienced engineer to focus on all stages of the product development process from concept generation through to commercializing of cutting-edge structural heart devices.

The role includes the following responsibilities and skill sets:
Design and develop new medical devices from initial concept phase through design freeze, verification and validation and finally into commercialization phase
Work from basic clinical need through opportunity assessment and device concept to prototype
Effectively represent the Company while interacting with physicians to distil their needs into product requirements and concepts
Participate in technical innovation across the department
Identify and mitigate technological risks throughout the design process Apply understanding of anatomy & physiology with engineering knowledge in materials and processes to come up with working designs
Interface effectively and build relationships with team members, other staff and key technology and component suppliers, both locally and globally
Contribute to resolution technical challenges with existing designs and support portfolio sustaining activities
Contribute to generation of intellectual property
Delegate/direct work of experienced engineers
Provide coaching/guidance to less experienced team members
KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Level 8 Degree in Engineering / Science or related discipline with minimum 5 years relevant direct engineering experience within medical device environment.
You are a dynamic team player and can work effectively and proactively on cross-functional teams
Medical device product development experience required.
Technical experience in DOE, Six Sigma, DFM etc.
You collaborate across organizational boundaries and take appropriate actions when problems occur. You are a good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking.
You are experienced interfacing with physicians and reducing feedback to device concepts
