A Major Hotel in Galway City, Ireland is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person for the following post:

SALES AND MARKETING MANAGER

Employment: Permanent


Objective of the Role

The Sales Manager will be responsible for maximising the sales potential and achieving revenue budgets of an amazingly refurbished hotels within the Hotel Group.

The ideal candidate will be pro-active and energetic with a proven track record in achieving sales targets and the ability to execute effectively a focused sales & marketing plan for the agreed market segments of local & global corporate, meetings, events & leisure.


Key Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and direct day to day operation of the sales & marketing function to ensure maximum revenue & profitability and provide potential and existing clients with the highest level of sales service

Plan & implement annual marketing expenditure per hotel focusing on overall business
Executive quarterly activity plans to create focus for the team and adapt activity to support business needs of each hotel

Develop and nurture relationships with key corporate clients through ongoing account management

Perform day to day sales activity including face to face meetings, contracting & rate negotiation, site inspections, attendance at trade events, client entertainment and overseas sales trips. Client entertaining/site inspections may require evening & weekend hours.

Develop and nurture client relationships within the small meetings segment

Report monthly on account performance to General Managers and Central Office

Utilisation of Alkimii CRM for logging all sales activity & measurement of KPI's

Weekly & Monthly monitoring of GDS business and completion of all relevant RFP's

Input to hotel pricing strategy and forecasting with General Managers and Revenue Managers

Manage hotels advertising & promotional campaigns

Manage online marketing & brand website through content development and continually driving customers direct to this sale channel

Attend Group consumer and trade promotions as required and schedule relevant individual promotions for the hotel

Produce hotel printed promotional material including brochures, flyers, special offers, posters, tent cards etc. as required, always following Group brand guidelines

To protect and promote the image of the Hotels brands at all times, both in print and verbally

Provide assistance to F&B and M&E teams with necessary sales & marketing activity

Identify key competitors and carry out regular competitor analysis, monitoring their performance, rates and sales activity

To be fully aware of the main market developments and other factors that would influence business or create favourable market conditions.

Develop a customer centric sale focus across the hotel team
