Medical Registrar - Days Only
A University Teaching Hospital wishes to recruit a Medical Registrar for their Integrated Care Programme for Older Persons.
This role will suit an experienced Medical Registrar who is interested in a Monday to Friday day shifts role.
There is an option to participate in the hospital's on call rota but this is optional if you wish to earn extra income and is not a requirement of the job.
The duties of the role being cased in a Community care facility and conducting; rapid access medical assessment of acutely unwell older persons from acute hospital or community pathways, those at risk of hospital admission or those with increasing frailty that may require admission.
This post will involve offering Triage & Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for referrals from Long Term Residential Care Facilities (LTRCFs) in Kerry.
The post requires the development and execution of treatment plans. The post holder will work as part of the Kerry Residential Care facility Community support team (Geriatrician, CNS, CNMII) to identify, intervene and follow up those older people at risk of adverse outcomes.
This post will offer early Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment of older persons who present as an emergency to University Hospital Kerry. The post holder will work with the greater multidisciplinary team to identify, intervene and follow up those older people at risk of adverse outcomes including admission, prolonged PET in ED, prolonged admission, falls, pressure ulcers, delirium, hospital acquired infections, premature mortality and institutionalisation.
Reporting to the Consultant Physician/Geriatrician, this role will suit an experienced and confident Medical Registrar.
Active registration with the Irish Medical Council, OET or IELTS in place, 5 or more years medical experience required.
