A fantastic opportunity for a NPD Technologist to move into management
This role will suit a dynamic and up and coming Research & Development Manager with drive, ambition and eagerness to fast track their career.
Areas of Responsibility:
Research and Development, Sample preparation, Technical Documentation, Procurement. Customer presentations.
Managing the Research and Development Department.
Project manage the critical path for new product launches ensuring on time and cost effective first production runs.
Technical liaisons with suppliers, colleagues and customers.
Procurement of technically acceptable sample materials.
Ensuring timely preparation and delivery of samples and maintenance of a sample database.
Planning, execution and change management of line trials.
Planning, execution and implementation of product and process re-engineering.
Identify and implement cost savings on materials, packaging & labour to agreed targets.
New product material and packaging costing.
Collect, collate and communicate all industry technical updates.
Maintain a system for identifying market insights in order to be first to market with innovations.
Benchmark competitor activity.
Ability to demonstrate the company's product ability to existing and potential customers.
Hold regular departmental and inter-departmental meetings ensuring that all time lines and targets are met.
Set remuneration packages and annual review for the R&D Technologists
Provide training and development for members of your department.
Provide cover for all of your staff members in the case of absence.
