A Major Medical Devices Company in Galway, Ireland is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified person for the following post:



At our IT Department, we focus on enabling and supporting world class manufacturing through innovation and delivery of superior information services and solutions. The IT Manager will be directly involved in managing and supporting information and technology across our R&D, CIC (Customer innovation centre) and shared services organisations while building a strong relationship with the leadership to drive innovation. You will be responsible for some members of the IT staff, managing performance, developing talent, engagement and inclusion to deliver on objectives and consistently work towards continuous improvement.

* Provide leadership and ensure proper execution of key initiatives to successful deployment.
* Provides leadership for those involved in the innovation and optimization of information and technology systems supporting company business processes.
* Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis and modification of enterprise systems, application software, installation of network hardware/software and data management in conjunction with the global IT organisation.
* Coordinate delivery of services to user groups and ensure the IT service is uninterrupted.
* Manage to budgets (team/project), cost estimates, service level targets, and project deadlines.
* Ensure that projects follow a structured development methodology.
* Communicate vision, project progress & support objectives, and achievements to customers, stakeholders and management.
* Work cross-functionally with peers to develop and influence consistent practices related to staff development, performance management, client quality programs, cost management.
* Establish appropriate relationships at all levels within the organization to influence and execute strategy/operations.
* Ensure governance, compliance, and regulatory processes are followed.
* Provide direction for the effort required to protect the company's data, tools and information systems.



* 9-13 years of IT experience with B.A or B.S.; 7-11 years of IT experience with M.A. or M.S.
* Strong leadership and people management skills
* Strong communication skills, including communication with employees, clients, upper management, and vendors
* Strong results orientation (driving to deadlines, financial targets, project goals, etc.)
* Global orientation
* Excellent presentation skills including the ability to translate highly technical information into business terminology
* Strong decision-making skills
* Broad business knowledge and experience

* Technology depth and credibility to technical staff
* Advanced degree in Computer Science or business related discipline
