Property Tax Manager - Group Tax (Permanent)
One of Ireland's largest financial institutions with a presence across a range of financial services markets is immediately seeking Property Tax Manager for permanent full time role
The role is with a major financial institution with a presence across a range of financial services markets. The Group Tax team is responsible for the tax reporting and filing requirement of the Group in addition to tax consulting across a range of taxes.
The team is also responsible for the development of the strong control environment across all Tax Types.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Property Tax Manager.
The Job:
This position will have responsibility for the co-ordination, preparation and review of 50% of the firm's tax compliance and tax provisioning agenda in addition to advice and consulting across a range of operational and strategic projects.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:
Support/advise business units on all taxation implications/obligations arising from property related activities
Effectively managing and identifying tax risks in the Group and taking a leading role in managing tax compliance in the Group across a number of tax heads (including corporation tax, VAT, retention taxes, etc.)
Promoting application of Group wide tax related policies/procedures, developing and implementing any requirement for tax-related policies
Reviewing and completing tax provisioning, ensuring reporting requirements are fulfilled, and managing tax payments through discussions and correspondence with finance functions
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Revenue and business units/divisions
Managing interaction with various other third parties including external advisers and industry bodies where appropriate
Keeping up to date with current tax legal and regulatory requirements

The Person:
The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following skills and knowledge:
A qualified accountant with AITI qualification and a number of years post qualification experience.
Financial services experience is desirable
Experience dealing with VAT and VAT on property is desirable
Experience in taking pro-active responsibility for commercial and technical issues and interacting with business managers/clients
Must be highly motivated with an ability to manage deadlines and ensure quality in every aspect of reporting
Be highly organised with a strong focus on attention to detail
Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both individually and as part of a team in a demanding environment whilst meeting tight deadlines
Ability to delegate to, manage and review work
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret new legislation/regulations and financial information
Proficient in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
