Job Description

Experienced Qualifies Electrician required for a Major Food Manufacturing Facility in Kildare.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities associated with this role are as follows;
*Provide maintenance support, both reactive repairs and planned maintenance within the manufacturing & office facility.
*Carry out installations and commissioning of plant / equipment & trouble shooting of same.
*Carry out programming and diagnostic of plant and equipment.
*Contribute to the efficiency of the operation by maximizing uptime of machinery & minimise downtime in production and utility areas.
*Carry out the execution of the preventive maintenance programs.
*Troubleshoot using PLC Programs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, General Electric, and Schneider Electric PLCs).
*Technical support for all the plant facilities (including but not limited to compressed air & refrigeration).
*Support and participate in all Environmental, Health & Safety and Quality activities.
*Carry out engineering work orders in a timely and safe manner while maintaining adherence to cGMP.
*As part of the Maintenance team, you will need to work with equipment suppliers on new equipment and installations and modifications.
*Assist the health & safety team in carrying out risk assessments of new & existing machines and ensuring training is rolled out to the Maintenance Team.
*Have working knowledge/experience with a "Lock-out Tag-out" programme.
*Adhere to all site policies on Quality, Health & Safety. (e.g.) clean overalls, clean work boots, hair nets, hearing protection, hand washing, LOTO etc.
*Keep maintenance manager of all relevant information in a timely and efficient manner.
*Closely monitor line and machine performance.
*Fully support the line leaders / line support i.e. Overtime, shifts cover, phone support & callout's.
*Provide general maintenance support as designated by supervisors/managers to include any or all the following areas: Process equipment; HVAC equipment; Refrigeration; Packaging Equipment.
Essential Experience
*Minimum; 3 years' experience in a maintenance role, planned and reactive maintenance skills
*PLC/PC Control Systems experience.
*Mechanical Experience
*Previous experience at identifying & execute machine / line improvement projects (lean initiatives).
*Experience working with Quality, Health and Safety depts.
*Excellent awareness and Demonstrated successes in a team environment with the ability to influence and bring people along.
*Experience of machine control diagnostics.
Desirable Experience
*Experience in a similar maintenance role within an FMCG plant (food production environment essential).
*Experience on Urschel, Handtmann, Wolfking, GEA, Vemag or Formax food machinery very beneficial to this role.
*Have experience of a wide range of Motor Control Systems & Process Temperature Controls.
*Strong industrial mechanical service and repair skills.

FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
*A relevant third level qualification in Engineering or time-served Electrician.

*Housekeeping is a critical function of all jobs and the Electrician is expected to ensure all housekeeping activities are observed and carried out appropriately.
*Working knowledge & experience of relevant Health, Safety & Environmental legislation.
*Experience of safety systems to manage work of internal resources and external contractors utilising Isolation / Lock-off procedures, Risk Assessment and Permit to Work.
*There will also be a requirement to be on-call in this role.

*Involvement in lean projects and process improvements.
*To maintain Plant and Equipment at Optimum performance and provide utilities to Manufacturing Departments and General Plant to achieve organizational annual plan.
*Understand Food Safety policies and legislation (BRC & ISO)
