Our Client are one of the leading Event management firms in Ireland and are reknowned for organising and running some of the greatest shows and conferences in Ireland. Event management is an industry to be passionate about and our clients are the leading light in this arena.
They wish to continue to grow as the opportunities are endless in the market and to do this require a high profile business development manager.

The role requires:
A self-starter with excellent business development and sales skills to take up a new position as leading the sales function. This role will be focused on generating new business leads within the national Meeting & Events department. You will be skilled in sourcing new business opportunities, developing relationships, preparing winning proposals and applying rigorous follow-up methodology in earning new business

Main Responsibilities
Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
Identify potential clients, decision makers within the client organisation
Create opportunities for client decision makers and company leaders/principals
Prospecting and targeting potential clients
Secure meetings with senior decision-makers and influencers, communicate the company's value proposition, and develop tailored quotations and proposals
Proposal writing and presentation development
Closing leads and contracting new clients
Research into projects and new sales prospects
Organisation and coordination of site inspections/client meetings
Attend industry and trade events as directed
Present new products and services and enhance existing relationships
Work with technical staff and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs
Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
Present to and consult with management on business trends with a view to developing new services and products

Likely Experience:
5 years senior B2B sales experience
Specific knowledge of the Irish Meetings and Events market
Ability to bring new, exciting and cutting-edge ideas to suit client briefs
Track record selling to senior decision makers in corporate businesses - Technology, FMCG, Pharma, Utility etc.
Proven experience meeting sales targets from new business
Experience identifying and converting B2B prospects
A confident and professional telephone manner
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including document and tender writing, proposals and presentations
Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate and present to varying levels of seniority
Attending and participating in industry networking events
Confident attitude when dealing with clients and team members
